About Us
My passion for animal health began long before I ever looked through a microscope. As a lifelong animal lover, horse owner, and science nerd, I've always wanted to provide the best care possible for my own animals. Learning to perform fecal egg counts started as a way to better understand parasite management and make informed deworming decisions for my own horses. Today, I'm proud to offer that same accurate, affordable testing to fellow horse and goat owners, helping them improve the health of their animals through evidence-based parasite-based monitoring rather than guesswork.
Our Process
Every sample is analyzed using the McMaster fecal egg count method, the gold standard for estimating parasite egg levels in livestock. A measured amount of feces is mixed with a specialized flotation solution, filtered, and loaded into a McMaster counting chamber. under a microscope, parasite eggs are counted and converted into eggs per gram (EPG), providing an accurate measurement of your animal's parasite burden rather than simply detecting whether parasites are present.Knowing your animal's EPG allows you to make informed deworming decisions instead of treating on a fixed schedule. Strategic deworming helps reduce unnecessary medication, slows the development of dewormer resistance, saves money, and promotes healthier horses and goats.
